VEDEM UNDERGROUND
Role: Creative Direction, Branding, Exhibition Design, Publication Design, Environmental Graphics
Commissioned to create the visual identity and exhibition design for VEDEM: The Underground Magazine of the Terezín Ghetto, I helped transform one of the Holocaust's most extraordinary acts of creative resistance into a contemporary museum experience.
Drawing from the 83 clandestine issues of Vedem—more than 800 pages of essays, poetry, artwork, and commentary created by teenage Jewish prisoners in the Terezín Ghetto—the exhibition reinterpreted the original publication through contemporary graphic design, archival photography, illustration, and environmental storytelling.
My role included creative direction, branding, exhibition graphics, publication design, website design, and the development of a traveling exhibition system that made this remarkable story accessible to new audiences while honoring the voices and resilience of its young creators.
The exhibition was recognized by the Smithsonian as one of its "10 Don't Miss..." museum exhibitions for Winter 2018.
